Brigadier General Dan R. Goodrich, USAF (ret) - Strategic Partner

 

Dan R. Goodrich retired from the US Air Force after 30 years of service. He began his career in 1974 after graduating from the U. S. Air Force Academy. He graduated from Pilot Training in Selma, AL and spent the first portion of his career flying the KC 135 Stratotanker in a multitude of air refueling missions. He was then assigned to Air Training Command where he instructed basic pilot training in the T-37.

 

Over his 30-year career, General Goodrich has held numerous positions at the wing, major command, Air Staff, and Joint Staff levels. The highlight of the middle portion of his career was his time as the Executive Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe where he arranged the calendar of this world leader. He returned to the United States and commanded a KC 135 Squadron which was followed with a Pentagon tour and another tour in Europe working on the staff of the Commander of European Command in Stuttgart GE. Following his European assignment he had two command tours-first as the Operations Group Commander at the 319th Air Refueling Wing, Grand Forks AFB, ND and then as the Wing Commander of the 47th Flying Training Wing, Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, TX. He concluded his Air Force career in July 2004 with an assignment at the Pentagon where he first served as the Deputy Director of USAF Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and then as the Director of the newly formed C4ISR Integration Directorate.

 

After retirement General Goodrich worked in the Defense Industry as a director of operations and also as a business development manager. He specialized in Air Force business relations and strategy development and has kept close ties with the leadership of the Air Force. He also worked in the counter narcotic arena dealing with both the Department of State and Office of the Secretary of Defense in developing business relationships and strategies.

 

In addition to his undergraduate degree for the U.S. Air Force Academy, General Goodrich has a Master’s Degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas and has attended a number of post-graduate seminars and executive programs. The General now resides in Melbourne, FL where he is involved in the economic development of the Space Coast and Patrick AFB, FL.
