Mandy Kenney
Vice President

Mandy Kenney has more than ten years of congressional and government relations experience.  She brings a wealth of knowledge in congressional procedure, appropriations, and legislative strategy.  As the legislative director for Congressman Mike Thompson, she served as his lead staffer on the House Armed Services Committee and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

As Congressman Thompson's senior legislative advisor, Ms. Kenney was responsible for shaping and advancing the Congressman's legislative agenda and managing his policy staff.  In that capacity, she advised him on legislative issues, pending votes in the House of Representatives, committee activity, and the requests of constituents that affected legislative actions.  Ms. Kenney was his chief liaison to the moderate Blue Dog Coalition and is experienced in bipartisan coalition building.  Through her work with the Coalition she helped marshal a bipartisan effort to enact the Veterans Right to Know Act. This landmark legislation mandates the declassification of Pentagon records detailing chemical and biological weapons testing on American veterans in the 1960's.

In the national security arena, Ms. Kenney has extensive experience in issues pertaining to base closure, defense appropriations, military construction, and military personnel issues.  She worked closely with local, state, and federal officials to bring new missions and assets to Travis Air Force Base, thereby enhancing the military value and the long-term viability of the installation.

On the transportation front, she has first-hand knowledge of issues pertaining to aviation, the national highway system and commuter transportation. She has worked on nationally significant legislation such as the reauthorization of TEA-21 and has worked extensively with federal agencies regarding appropriations, grant funding and agency policy.

In addition to defense issues and transportation issues, Ms. Kenney also has broad experience in the areas of international relations, trade, education, energy and veterans matters.

Ms. Kenney is a graduate of California State University at Sonoma with a degree in Political Science and a minor in history. She has been an active member of student mentoring programs throughout the Washington DC area.
